Celebrate Nursing is the focus of the HPNF Annual Fund for 2010. Florence Nightingale’s “Notes on Nursing” tells the importance of fresh air, clean water, healthy food, and attention to individual patients when delivering care.  Today, hospice and palliative nurses closely embrace her holistic, patient-centered approach to health and well being.  2010 has been designated the International Year of the Nurse (IYN) to celebrate nurses and nursing by honoring advances in the profession in the 100 years since Nightingale’s death, and nurses’ commitment to global health in the future.
