Susan Lowey, PhD, RN, CHPN (USA), is awarded the 2013 Sigma Theta Tau International/Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation End of Life Nursing Care Research Grant for the study "Factors that Influence Care Transitions of End-Stage Heart Failure Patients to Palliative Home Care." The aim of this study is to explore factors that influence the care transitions of end-stage heart failure patients to palliative home health care.
PDIA Nursing Leadership Award
HPNF has announced that Margaret Campbell, PhD, RN, FPCN, is the recipient of the 2013 Project on Death in America (PDIA) Nursing Leadership Award in Palliative Care. The honor was presented March 14, 2013 at the AAHPM/HPNA Annual Assembly in New Orleans, LA. Click 2013 PDIA for press release.
Judy Lentz Scholarship for the Advancement of Palliative Care in Oncology Nursing
HPNF has announced that Megan Kilpatrick, RN, BSN, OCN, CHPN® is the inaugural recipient of the 2013 Judy Lentz Scholarship for the Advancement of Palliative Care in Oncology Nursing. The purpose of the new scholarship is to enhance nursing excellence in palliative care by providing educational opportunities for registered nurses. Mary Ann Hales Reynolds, RN, PhD, ACNS-BC, Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at Idaho State University is the 2013 American Nurses Foundation/Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation Nursing Research Grant recipient for her study "Palliative Care Needs of Young and Middle Age Adults (20-59) with a Potentially Life Limiting Cancer Diagnosis: A Pilot Study."
