Annual Giving for the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation

Charitable Gift Options

Charitable giving helps to ensure that everyone in our communities across the country has access to the care they need.  Every gift to the Foundation, regardless of its size, is an important resource for the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation.  The real beneficiary, however, is you, your family, and neighbors who benefit directly from programs and services that sustain excellence in end-of-life nursing and enhance the quality of life for people with chronic disease.

Each year HPNF raises money through our Annual Fund to support the work and goals of the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association.

You can be an integral part of promoting quality palliative care to everyone:

  • Annual giving to the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation provides funding for education and research for individual hospice and palliative nurses and promotes the specialty of hospice and palliative nursing
  • Our goal is quality palliative care by nurses for patients
  • The Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation welcomes contributions of any amount
  • We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and all contributions are tax deductible to the full extent of the law

Gifts are directed to the area with the most pressing need.

Other Charitable Gift Options

There are a variety of gift options in addition to cash that provide meaningful support to the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation.  You can choose from a number of ways to make your gift, including:

Gifts of Appreciated Securities: Giving appreciated stock is an excellent way to support the hospital's programs. This type of gift usually qualifies not only for the income tax deduction associated with all charitable gifts, but also eliminates capital gains tax. To give stock, contact info@hpnf.org.

Create a Legacy by making a Bequest: Bequests through Wills enable people to make significant contributions that might not be possible during their lifetime.  When you make a bequest to HPNF, your taxable estate is reduced by a 100 percent deduction for the amount of a cash gift, or by fair market value of appreciated assets.  Click here for sample bequest language you may use to remember the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation in your will. For more information, contact info@hpnf.org.

Charitable Remainder Trust: A “CRT” can provide you (and your spouse, if appropriate) lifetime income and cash flow, a current income tax deduction, and provide important endowment funds for the future healthcare of the community. At the same time, you avoid all capital gains and future estate taxes. Click here for calculation.   For more information and to find out how you and your family could benefit from a Charitable Remainder Trust contact info@hpnf.org.

Life Insurance Gifts: An often-overlooked asset that can be used to fund a gift is life insurance.  You can name the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation as owner and beneficiary of a policy that is no longer needed for its original purpose or you can buy a new policy for the Foundation's benefit.
