The Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation offers ten (10) Certification Exam Scholarships every year. Awards for each level of certification (Advanced Practice, Generalist Nurse, Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse, Nursing Assistant and Administrator) are made in June and December.
The scholarships are competitive and provide reimbursement of certification exam fees to eligible individuals selected by the Certification Exam Scholarship Review Committee. Applicants may be new or renewing certificants.
To be eligible for the scholarships, candidates must:
ยท hold a current HPNA membership when taking the test
- submit a copy of the testing company certification acknowledgement letter indicating that they have passed the exam
- submit a completed HPNF Certification Exam Scholarship Application
- submit one reference letter from a professional colleague
- submit a 250-word essay describing their dedication to end-of-life care, commitment to volunteerism and stating their professional goals and why certification is important to them
- submit a bio-sketch, resume or CV (no more than two pages)
- personally pay for exam
- submit all materials so they are received in the National Office by the deadline
Note: Individuals who have been reimbursed their exam fees by any other institution or organization are not eligible for this scholarship.
